Craig & Willoughby’s shows and recordings are attracting more critical acclaim and more loyal followers with each tour. They met in Nashville, Tennessee... Willoughby, famed lead guitarist of Strawbs for 26 years, met Craig, a respected session singer and songwriter while are in Nashville writing songs for his debut solo recording BLACK & WHITE.
They co-wrote several songs for that well-received CD, most notably the title track as well as the poignant Alice’s Song, a dedication to Brian’s autistic niece. The song was later released by The Strawbs as a single in support of the National Autistic Society’s Year of Autism Awareness 2002.
Their concerts showcase her voice and his guitar and their intricately crafted songs in a unique and dynamic way.
Craig & Willoughby’s recent single “Rumours of Rain” was recorded with a stellar supporting cast that reads like a ‘who’s who’ of folk artists including Ralph McTell, Nanci Griffith, Tom Paxton, Martin Carthy, Martyn Joseph, Bob Fox and Tommy Sands, as well as members of Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span, Pentangle, Lindisfarne and Strawbs!
